Paul Trimpe was inducted into the Army 9/18/1942. Trained in Fort Des Moines IA, Fort Hancock NJ, Fort Monroe VA, Camp Chaffee AK. Served in the Coast Artillery then changed to Heavy Field Artillery. Left the USA 12/1/1944 with stops in England, France, Belgium, then into combat in Germany with an 8" Howitzer crew. Served as a gunner and was 2nd in command on gun 4. Returned to US 12/30/1945.
